![]() ![]() They do provide the batch command system. After speaking with Slate folks last weekend, I past along your question. I was wrong about the software overlay dawstew. It would undermine the products they're trying to sell at Slate Media right now. Perhaps that could change in time, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. I'm purely guessing, but while that would be convenient for someone looking to buy only the guts, it would be a huge step down for Slate to sell only the shell of something. Lokeyfly response: You could inquire about it by contacting Slate Media. ![]() The fact that it's right there for now every major DAW is a great move on their end. The Raven MTX' are finding their way into a good number of studios especially around Pro Tools environments. ![]() He knows he has a good thing, and offers products at a very reasonable price already. Steven is an amazing individual, who's excitement always shows and well it should. Slate is a rather cool company, having the Slate Media hardware and being rather successful in Studio's and Educational services, and there's the Slate Digital side providing everything from Plugins, that mimic some very high end equipment, to even drumware instrument software. For a DAW, multitouch, and high, clear resolution should be as effortless, and clear as possible. Not saying anyone would, but just throwing that out there. IMOĪlso keep in mind there's a lot of not so great touch screen monitors. You could inquire about it by contacting Slate Media. The added macro tool bars, and Batch commander are enticing.ĭaw Stew wrote: Couldn't you just buy a 27" touch screen monitor and buy the slate batch commander software? Not sure if that'd work but the slate software is just an overlay and not directly part of Studio One Those Slate features are real nice and allow for some added punch over just buying a larger monitor. I'm not sure if it's a game changer for me yet, but I'm very open to the possibilities of either the MTI-2, or going with an even larger multi touch monitor, and seeing if the touch sensitivity is that much different, functionally better, etc. Actually, Steven typically is as well, so I'd like to try a hands with the MTI-2 on and go from there. I will no doubt see the Raven's at the AES convention at the end of this month, as Slate is always there. The extra $325 to go with the MTI-2 is probably worth it. If you want those Raven extras, and for some people, laying down studio DAW work, those exra's are a lot. Still, at 27" for $999 (USD), there may be other choices and just buy a 27" Multitouch monitor, like a Planer Helium for $575. * The Raven Batch Commander: boost your productivity * The Raven Toolbar: controls right where you need them * The Raven Mixer: your DAW, at your fingertips There are some useful ones, such as: (per Raven 3.0) The Raven MTI-2 has a 27" size screen, so you then have to weigh out if the dedicated additional Raven software features are worth your while. ![]()
